Step 1: Make sure everyone is safe.
No matter how minor the collision, stop in a well-lit place by performing a proper roadside stop, or by pulling into a parking lot. Ensure you and all passengers are safe, and then inspect the vehicle to ensure everything is in working order.
Step 2: Notify authorities.
If you need medical or police assistance, make sure your first phone call is 911. While you are waiting, get your driver’s license, registration, and insurance information ready.
Step 3: Take photos of everything.
Make sure you capture multiple angles of every area where damage has occurred. If any passengers are experiencing injuries, take photos of the areas they are feeling pain or discomfort.
Tip: If your phone does not have a camera, make sure you keep a fully-charged handheld camera in your glove compartment.
Step 4: Document everyone involved.
Make sure you get the insurance, license, and registration of all vehicles involved in the accident. It’s easiest if you take a picture of all the documents.
For passengers and witnesses, write down their first and last name, as well as their phone and e-mail address. Including the passengers in your vehicle.
Tip: Most smartphones have a notepad application already installed. Take a moment now to make sure your phone has one. If not, download one in case you need it.
Step 5: Contact Audi Roadside Assistance.
If your Audi needs to be towed, make sure you contact Audi Roadside Assistance* first. This will ensure your Audi is taken to a Certified Audi Collision Centre or an Audi dealer.
