Driver and front passenger dual-stage and dual-threshold airbag supplemental restraints with occupant sensor. Airbags are supplemental restraints only and will not deploy under all accident circumstances. Always use safety belts and seat children only in the rear, using restraint systems appropriate for their size and age.

Adaptive damping suspension

Ride and handling, tailored specifically to the driver. Instead of conventional shock absorption, shock valves are controlled electronically in accordance with road conditions, driver control inputs and the Audi drive select setting. Continuously adaptive damping characteristics deliver the appropriate damping forces in every driving situation.

Electromechanical parking brake

The electromechanical parking brake has little in common with a conventional handbrake. It is resistant to wear, its braking effect is permanently constant and it cannot lock. It is activated by pulling the small electric lever on the center console, which replaces the conventional handbrake lever.

Adaptive cruise control with Stop&Go

Cruise control with an IQ. Special radar sensors maintain the driver-selected cruise control distance from the vehicle ahead. If the distance is too small, the system reduces speed moderately and when the road ahead is clear, adaptive cruise control accelerates the vehicle up to the previously set speed.

At speeds of up to 85 km/h, pre-sense city scans the road for other vehicles and pedestrians using a windshield-mounted front camera with a range of up to 100 metres. If there is the threat of a collision, the driver receives a series of warnings and, if necessary, the vehicle starts to apply the brakes fully.

Front and rear parking sensors

See how easy parking can be. Starting at five feet, ultrasonic sensors measure distance from an object. An intermittent warning tone progressively beeps faster to indicate how far the vehicle is from an obstacle and becomes a solid tone at eight inches away. The feature can be switched off via a button on the instrument panel.

Park assist

The park assist system can back the vehicle into both parallel and perpendicular spaces relative to the road. The system locates parking spaces using side-mounted ultrasound sensors that scan the parking spaces on the side of the road in two dimensions while driving at moderate speed. A notification appears in the display when the system finds a suitable spot.

Never be caught off guard. In situations with a high probability of a rear-end collision, the system tightens the seatbelts, closes the windows and sunroof, adjusts the seats, power head restraints, upper section back rests, and side bolsters to reduce the severity of a collision to its occupants.

No need to look away from the road. With the optional head-up display, a full-colour LCD screen projects important information and indications onto the windshield for quick driver reference.

Traffic sign recognition

The camera-based traffic-sign recognition assistant identifies many traffic signs and relays them to the driver in the head-up display (if equipped) and instrument cluster. The key to knowing where you’re going. Audi MMI (Multimedia Interface) Navigation features a GPS unit installed in- vehicle that determines the vehicles position relative to a digital map, displayed on screen. When a destination is set, the driver receives route suggestions that are customizable based on a number of options. The Audi navigation system depends upon signals from the worldwide GPS network. Once in use, a driver can confidently be directed by visual and verbal commands. On top of that, MMI Navigation plus includes ten gigabytes of memory standard. The navigations system is stored on the hard disk drive instead of an SD card and allows 3D imaging and other graphics to be displayed on the MMI screen alongside the map. The vehicle's electrical system and existing wireless and satellite technologies must be available and operating properly for the system to function.

Audi side assist

Extra eyes for your blind spots. When travelling over 31 km/h, Audi side assist system scans the blind spot areas, plus about 45 metres to the rear of the vehicle. If Audi side assist identifies another vehicle, it informs the driver via LED lights in the exterior mirror. The driver has the ability to disable this feature.

Audi active lane assist

Active lane assist reduces the danger of inadvertently departing from your lane by utilizing steering prompts to help the driver stay within lane markings, resulting in a more comfortable, safer driving experience.
