The new Audi R8 V10 Coupé is raising the bar: its 5.2-litre V10 engine has a power output of 540 hp, and a top speed of 320 km/h. And it requires a mere 3.6 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h. The V10 plus exterior is characterized by numerous finishing touches in carbon, including a striking spoiler that increases the downforce on the rear axle and enhances the overall athletic impression.
The 5.2 FSI is available in two versions: the V10 with 540 hp and the V10 plus with 610 hp. The V10 enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.6 seconds before continuing on to a maximum speed of 320 km/h, while its V10 plus counterpart accelerates in 3.3 seconds up to 330 km/h.
The Audi virtual cockpit is a fully digital display that presents all necessary information on its 12.3-inch screen. The driver can toggle between different pre-set display modes or customize the display in Individual mode. It is operated using the multifunction plus steering wheel, which allows the driver’s hands to remain on the steering wheel at all times, and sole attention can to be placed on the road.
With its forward-positioned cockpit, flowing back and short wheelbase, there is no mistaking the Audi R8 V10 Coupé. The signature aesthetic appeal continues with the trapezoidal design of the twin tailpipes and an illuminated engine compartment.
LED headlights with Audi laser light are standard on the Audi R8 V10 plus Coupé, doubling the range of the high beam to 600 metres. A phosphor converter transforms the light from high-intensity laser diodes into white light suitable for roadway use. The Audi laser light is active from a speed of 60 km/h to supplement the LED high beam of the Audi R8 and, thanks to its long range, it greatly enhances the driver’s field of vision and safety.
