I want to change the information in a stored contact; can I do this through the MMI?

Contacts that you have imported into the MMI can be edited. Select the 'NAME' function button from the MMI Control Panel, and you can then select the name that you would like to edit by selecting it to display its properties. Scroll to the bottom and choose 'Edit Entry' to make your modifications.

Where can I find a list of voice commands?

Press the 'Push to Talk' button on the multi-functional steering wheel to activate the voice recognition functionality. Say "help" to hear the possible commands and view them on the screen. Also, the full list of commands is available in your owners manual.

I've connected my Bluetooth phone, but I cannot access my phonebook. How do I load or view my phonebook entries?

First, you will want to check to make sure that your phone has been approved for use with the MMI system in your particular vehicle model and model year. Visit www.audiusa.com/bluetooth to view this information. This database will also allow you to view which of your phone's features are fully compatible with your MMI system. Please note that even compatible phones may have limitations as noted in the database comments.

After verifying that your phone is compatible, you should check your phone to make sure that your phone synchronization is turned on to allow the loading of the phonebook. Press the 'Telephone' function button, select the 'Memory' control button and turn the knob to 'Import Phone Book' and press the knob to begin the import. If you are still experiencing problems, you may need to clear your 'Received Calls' and 'Dialed' call lists (your phone's instructions will help you clear those call lists).

If these previous steps do not allow you to view the entries, it is also possible that you may need to remove the phone pairing from the MMI and any reference to the MMI from the phone itself and pair the device again.

How many contacts and entries can I load into my 3G MMI contact list?

3G MMI vehicles: The limit of phone numbers that can be stored total on the MMI is 5,000, spanning over four phone profiles.

Each individual profile has the following capacities:
- Import 100 contacts with full address and multiple phone information.
- 2,000 entries entries maximum per profile.

Note: if one profile uses 2,000 entries and another profile also uses 2,000 contact entries, this would leave only 1,000 entries available for the other two profiles given the maximum of 5,000 entries total for all profiles combined.

Can I answer an incoming phone call without dropping the original phone call (i.e., call waiting)?

Yes, there is a call swap feature to place the original call on hold while answering the incoming call. When you accept the incoming call the active call is placed on hold automatically. Note: 3G MMI systems can utilize a 3-way calling (GSM) option by selecting the 'Telephone Function' button and the 'Setup Function' button, followed by the 'Call Options'.

How do I pair my Bluetooth phone?

There are a few steps that you must complete to pair your phone with your vehicle's MMI system. We recommend you view the following tutorials to best learn how:

Why won't my phone automatically connect when I re-enter the vehicle?

First, it is possible that your Bluetooth is not enabled on your cell phone (verify that Bluetooth is enabled for the cell phone). Also, it is possible that you may need to turn off the Bluetooth connection from the phone and power it back on. If you have had more than four phones connected to the MMI Bluetooth and have not connected this phone recently, it is possible that your Bluetooth Pairing had been removed since only four devices can be stored at one time in the MMI. Lastly, check your phone settings to ensure that it is set to automatically reconnect pairings (your phone's instructions will be most helpful in this step).

I have multiple phones that I want to pair with my Audi, how can I manage these separate profiles?

You can manage the Bluetooth Profiles from within the Bluetooth Setup menu. From the MMI Control Panel, press the 'Setup' button and choose the 'Bluetooth' control button. From this menu, you will be able to change the Bluetooth name for each paired device, existing paired devices and profiles can also be removed from this setup page. You can also toggle from one paired Bluetooth device to another that has already been paired from this setup menu.

I have two phones synchronized to my vehicle's Bluetooth system. Can I toggle between the two telephones?

3G MMI: Yes, this can be done. You will need to enter the Bluetooth Setup Menu by pressing the 'Setup' button from the MMI Control Panel and select the 'Bluetooth' control button. From this Setup menu you can select 'Paired Devices' and choose the phone that you would like to use. To select the phone, use the control knob to highlight the phone and press down to connect to that phone. Note: up to four phones can be stored within the MMI at anytime.

If a call comes in and I don't want other passengers in the vehicle to hear the conversation, is there a way to disable the Bluetooth and use just the handset?

You can turn off the Bluetooth connection through either the MMI system or your phone. To turn it off from the MMI, press the 'Setup' function button, and press the 'Bluetooth' control button to turn 'OFF' the Bluetooth feature from the setup screen. To turn it off from your phone, access your Bluetooth settings or connection options to turn off your Bluetooth capabilty. Note: some phones also have a feature that will allow you to toggle from one device to another such as the iPhone.
