Audi TraditionHeidelberg Historic

Twenty five years on, the famous rally team Walter Röhrl and Christian Geistdörfer were back in the cockpit of the Audi Sport quattro “Rallye” at the 15th ADAC Heidelberg Historic Rally, held from July 9-11, 2009.

The legendary rally team drove the very same Group B car that they tested in Heidelberg back in 1984 before taking second place in the Monte Carlo Rally a year later. The 650 kilometre long route took them through the Neckar and Jagst valleys and southern Germany’s Kraichgau and Zabergäu regions. Spectators and classic car enthusiasts cheered the rally teams on throughout. On the final day, Audi welcomed the rally participants, more than 200 in all, for lunch at the Audi Forum Neckarsulm.

Cars taking part
included the 1971 Audi 100 Coupé S, an original Audi quattro (Ur-quattro) built in 1991, a 1975 NSU Ro 80 and a 1971 NSU 1200 TT.
